MacColl's PCT-LEAP Emerging Leaders Program provides leadership development and mentoring to selected primary care staff members from PCT-LEAP sites, supporting them in becoming effective drivers of change in their own communities, as well as role models for successfully envisioning and creating rewarding health care careers.

Co-hosted in March 2014 in Philadelphia by the Patient-Centered Primary Care Collaborative, The Sixth National Medical Home Summit brought leading authorities and practitioners in the medical home field together to discuss successes, current proven outcomes, lessons learned thus far, opportunities for improvement, and what lies ahead. Mini-summits provided an in depth look at workforce issues and the medical neighborhood.  RWJF's MaryJoan Ladden, a co-chair of the event, hosted a session which featured  presentations by three Emerging Leaders from the 11th Street Family Practice, Union Health Center, and Highland Family Medicine LEAP sites.

The entire PCT-LEAP Emerging Leaders team also led a learning lab at IHI’s 15th Annual  International Summit on Improving Patient Care in the Office Practice and the Community in Washington DC this month!  Almost every Emerging Leader participated as a facilitator or speaker during this 3-hour session, which attracted more than 150 participants.  These innovators also assumed additional roles as facilitators, moderators, and speakers during other sessions at the conference.  The Summit provided a great opportunity to introduce the PCT-LEAP initiative and its practices to others in the primary care community – and to showcase the work of the many amazing staff who make these practices some of the best in the country.
